OVERVIEW

Design and build the Broadstone Consulting HRNexus Marketplace platform. HRN in a marketplace for employers to access expert advice for their workforce issues from a diverse team of expert consultants through a technology platform.

PROBLEM

How can we design a platform that allows clients to easily connect with qualified vetted HR experts to solve their problem quickly and efficiently.

JOURNEY MAP

After referencing other successful applications, I developed three different journey maps including:

  • How the Client would find an HR Pro

  • How and HR Pro would sign up for the HR Nexus Program and begin interacting with clients

  • How a project would come to fruition between a client and HR Pro

GOALS

Clients

  • Easy sign-up

  • Provide access to the entire pool of Pros and guarantee a 24-hr response time for questions to be answered.

  • Clients need to be able to post topics and questions for discussions and allow HRNexus Marketplace members to respond. This will be a free offering.

Pros

  • Easy sign-up

  • Create a profile that allows clients to see their work experience, fields of expertise, awards and honors

  • Seamless way of getting paid once work is completed

FLOW DIAGRAM

I also began to develop high level flows and mocks that helped facilitate discussion and project planning.

Flow 1 (HR Pro Sign Up)

This involves the HR Pro signing up for HR Nexus. First the HR Pro will create an account, adding their personal information, resume and work history to their personal profile. Shortly after doing so, they will receive a confirmation email stating that their background check has gone into effect. If the background check is denied, they must consult with customer service, and go through the process again. If their background check is approved, they are able to create a profile and update it at their leisure. Additionally, they will have access to a library of clients, with the ability to interact and request to speak with any client they feel may be a good match for their expertise.

Flow 2 (Client Posts a Project)

The client looking for an HR Pro first will create a project and post it on the public dashboard. They will receive bids from any HR Pros interested in servicing that client. If the client does not feel the HR Pro is a match, the bid will be denied and the interaction will end. If a bid is accepted, then the client is able to chat with the HR Pro, asking them additional questions regarding their background and expertise. After the initial interaction, if the client doesn’t feel the HR Pro is a proper match for them, they can deny the Pro and go back to the drawing board, or they can choose the individual as their HR Pro and discuss details regarding the project they need help with, a potential start date and more.

REMOTE MODERATED USABILITY TESTING

DESIGN APPROACH

The wireframes below showcase a simplistic design, intuitive for users of any age. The platform needs to be easy as well as engaging for both the HR Pro and client to interact with. The HR Pro’s portfolio is showcased and represented in a visually engaging way, differenciating this platform from others, while drawing in potential clients to their page.

Finally I conducted a usability test and utilized feedback from the participants pinpoints to make changes to the HR Nexus platform I had developed (featured above).
